A day at uni, a year off my life

I knew today would not be a smooth sailing day when I woke up 3 times for mid-night pees and had 2 strange dreams last night. The first thing that went wrong was when I realised the new MET ticket which I thought I had wasn't actually new. I had to go into clayton to collect the final draft of my essay from my supervisor. As I slowly and nervously flicked through page by page of my paper, I knew exactly what was my second problem of the day - editing. Adamant to hand in my completed essay by today, even though it is not due until Friday, I spent roughly 2 hours working in the computer lab.

Immediately after that, I rushed to the library, added 4 dollars to my printing card and attempted to print the essay. It was then, when my third problem occured. The printing cost 6 dollars in total. With no more coins and no other options, I ran to the canteen about 50 metres from the library and bought pack of chips. With a 2 dollar coin held firmly in my hand, I rushed back to the library to try to print the essay again.

All was well until my forth problem came knocking. While I was reading through my essay for the very last time (so I thought) I found a typo and a formatting error in my essay. I needed to find a computer, prompto. After 20 minutes of searching around about and up and down, I saw a unoccupied computer few steps in front of me. I took 3 big lunges and 'evil eyed' around me to fan off anyone trying to fight me for MY computer. This time it only took me 5 minutes to do some minor editing before I printed my completed research essay.

As I headed towards the law building, ready to submit my paper, my fifth problem dropped by. The 2 hour MET ticket I bought in the morning had expired. At that time, all I had was a 50 dollar note; which meant that my only option was to go back to the canteen area to buy another MET ticket. I could have bought a ticket on the bus, but that's if I enjoy receiving verbal abuse from the bus driver for not giving him the right amount of money.

In the end, I've handed in my essay and that one less thing to worry about as I prepare for my first exam, which is on next Monday.

Virgin Madonna

Photo from Madonnalicious. Let me tell you a little bedtime story.

London is populated by millions and yet, meeting 'the one' is not as easy as it seems. Madonna was a young yoga teacher. Guy was an amateur scriptwriter. They were both members of the Future Lovers dating agency. Madonna came across Guy's profile and wanted to arrange a meeting with him. When Guy received Madonna's call, he was doubtful and at one stage wanted to hang up and forget he ever subscribed himself at the Future Lovers.

When Guy saw Madonna, he said to himself, 'I Feel Love'. Madonna was stunned by Guy's good looks and was glad she arranged the Get Together. They went to have a coffee at a nearby cafe, chatted and flirted.

One thing led to another, they ended up on bed at Guy's apartment. As Guy tried to penetrate Madonna, he could feel that she was tight Like A Virgin. Guy felt exhausted and pain after 5 hours of a hell of a banging, but that was surely a Live To Tell experience.

While laying on the bed, Guy told Madonna that he thought that he might be in love with her. Madonna did not reply for a few minutes before saying that that love was a Forbidden Love. Guy asked why; Madonna said, 'Issac...'. 'No, it's Guy.' 'Oh, Sorry. Guy, I am actually God.' Guy was shocked. Tearing started rolling down his face. Madonna said, 'Like It Or Not, this is the truth'.

Guy then asked, 'When and where will I see you again then.' 'I don't know. But I Love New York. You might find me there,' Madonna replied. Then Guy said, 'But New York is a big city...' Madonna said, 'Where you see a Ray of Light, you see me... take it easy, Let It Will Be.' Guy didn't know what to say next, he felt like he was in a Drowned World. If heaven is a paradise, then, he thought, 'Paradise - Not For Me.' He would rather be in hell where they play Music Inferno.

Guy knew he would never forget that Erotica session. Laying next to Madonna was like sunbathing on La Isla Bonita (beautiful island?). Madonna pointed to a star in the sky and told Guy that that was her, and that would be his Lucky Star, forever. Guy smiled, but thought to himself, 'Psycho~' and that he should have Hung Up when Madonna contacted him through the agency.

THE END

P.S. Those (note the words in italic) are the Confessions on the Dancefloor tour list; in that exact sequence!

J.A.W.S Live Concert 2006

I went to watch the J.A.W.S Live Concert last night (Sunday night) - a concert consisted of four Hong Kong singers - Justin, Alex, Wilfred and Stephy. I thought it was a great concert overall. Justin is an inspirational singer, Alex has inspirational good looks, Wilfred has inspirational energy and Stephy wore a pretty dress. Here are some pictures from the concert:

The DaVinci Code

Boohoo, I am short and bulky! That's bad. It's right down there with being poor and ugly. Not that I've a problem for being short since it's 'in' to be short - just look at Kate Moss, Eva Longoria, and Sarah J Parker. But I am getting too muscly. Sometimes it's hard to know whether you are too big or not. When you ask people, some might say yes when you are not just to stir with your head, and some might be genuinely concerned about you looking like, according to Darren, a lobster. I realised that I am probably getting too big when I felt my chest bouncing while I was running on the threadmill.

Photo from ninemsn. Anyway, I went to watch the DaVinci Code with some friends tonight. I don't have a clue what the movie is about, and I'll just blame it on the fact that I haven't read the book. All I know is that Audrey Tautou is cute when she speaks English in a French accent. I like her, somehow she remains me of Snow White. I thought she didn't really 'pop' in the movie though, and when she stood next to Tom Hanks, it's literally like Snow White standing next to Shrek. Who is Mary Magdalene anyway? Was she Jesus's mom, Mary, or a whole new person? I can understand why it might be too kinky for the bible if she was Jesus's mom.

Why the fuck did Nadia Petrova withdraw? That wasn't my plan at all. Argh ~ I hate it when someone messes with my plan. I'll sure put a not-winning-another-title-for-the-rest-of-the-year spell on her! Well, I guess all it matters is that Hingis have just beat Schiavone 6-0 7-5 in the third round and I think she'll probably face Pennetta again in the quarters.

Photo from ninemsn. This news is kind of old, but did you know that Nicole Kidman is engaged to Keith Urban? To be honest, they look more like sisters than a couple. Kidman is boring, country music is boring... so I guess they match after all. Love is everything.

I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY! Competition is not about winning; as long as you are not losing.

Tennis Updates

Amelie Mauresmo beat Martina Hingis 4-6 6-4 6-4 in the quarterfinals of the German Open, and on that same day that bitch got trashed by Justine Henin-Herdanne 6-1 6-2. And she pulled out of this week's tournament due to illness. What did I tell you about not getting onto my bad side!? Hingis is playing again this week in the Internazionali d'Italia and I think she should be to breeze through to the semifinals where she will meet either Venus Williams or Nadia Petrova, who has been on fire for the past few months I can smell something burning from here. Well, my plan is to make sure Williams beats Petrova in a tight 3 setter in the quarters using my new spell - chant these secret words Nadia shu gei si ba puo Venus everyday for one day. And then I'll put a curse on Williams stomach muscles (again) so that Hingis could kick her skinny black ass back to L'America. My prediction: Hingis and Kim Clijster meet in the final - winner: Martina Hingis, reality: Kim Clijster. Oh Australia's Alicia Molik is back in action this week too - my crystal ball tells me that she will be out in the first round.

Photo from Atp. Look at this picture of Marat Safin and Tommy Haas at Hamburg Masters. Very vintage and gay, no I mean happy, no I mean gay - no I mean 'gappy'. Surprise surprise... Lleyton Hewitt has withdrawn from the tournament due to injury blah blah blah blah blah. Lazy lazy boy, bad boy!

I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY! GO HINGIS GO!

I love ツメイシ

Photo from Almosthuman86. I've always liked Chemistry for their slow, touching songs. But now I am in love with ケツメイシ's (Ketsumeishi) music, particularly さくら (Sakura), 旅人 (Tabibito) and トモダチ(Tomodachi). Lalala ~ I want to be a Japanese rapper... now... please? By the way, I am not sure if this picture is ケツメイシ or not ~ HA! I searched for their pictures on google, clicked on one of the links and saw this picture and I just assumed it's them. All I know is that they were the best-selling band in 日本 last year, with 3-4 guys in the band.

Today was weird. It was the first time since I cannot remember when where I woke up feeling hang over-free. I stayed home last night and I found myself $70 richer this morning. I stayed home the whole day though, listened to my online lecture for 2 hours and spent the rest to the day working on my research essay about child labour. It is hard to have to think about something you don't give a fuck, let alone having to write 7000-9000 words about it. Anyhow, since I am a talented little bullshitter, the essay is almost done and I am more than over the moon, I am 'over the Sun'... 10 times.

Friday was weird too. I got into an argument with a friend because I wanted to go clubbing and I promised I wouldn't a week ago. Anyway, that has been resolved, forgotten, forgiven and what not. It was Anthony's birthday. I think I sang Happy Birthday to him like 10 times, he probably thinks that I was making fun of him getting older. Well, I am old too... just not as old ~ HA! Oh, by the way, I loathe 'keeper'. No one 'keeps' and no one should.

I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY! No one cries for no reason. Those who claim that they don't know why they cry are either hiding 'something' or don't know what the 'something' is yet.

Weekend weekend where are you

I promised some more photos from the past weekend and here you go.

Japanese party on Lygon:

Photo from Wilson's mobile. The caucasian is Jia's boyfriend Ryan.

Johan's 21st b-day:

Johan's apartment on Flinders Lane. I like, love and adore that apartment, especially the brick wall and high ceiling.

Mr Johan with his heavenly fridge. Obviously, no one was worried about not having enough alcohol that night.

Johan, Tommy and Gloria - Zorro wannabes~!

Dinner at Wilson's on Tuesday:

Look at this! Pretty good for a home-made curry laksa. Yummy too!

The only time I'd smile is when someone told a funny joke, or someone around me is a joke, or something is yummy.

I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY! To tell you the truth, I don't go to uni because I've recently broke up with it and I am just not ready to see it yet.

When I was 13

Last Friday, my friend Samuel Hwang (right) invited me to go to a gathering arranged by Melbourne Uni's Japanese Club. It was 2-3 years since I last met up with Samuel. For those who didn't know, I was a part-time mute for a year and four months when I first arrived in Melbourne. I talked at home but not at school. I still don't know why I didn't talk about I think it had something to do with my mom having her friends telling me how Australians hate Asians, to try to convince me not to come to study in Australia. It was interesting though. I had some friends who would invite me to their houses and, we wouldn't talk and just play video games. Some thought that I was in some weird cult shit, and some just thought I was plainly weird.

Samuel was the first person I talked to in Year 9. We were in the Maths class and I asked if I could borrow his calculator. From then on, I talk and I talk and I don't know how to stop.

After the gathering, I went to Johan's 21st birthday party. Theme: Masquerade. Some 30+ people attended. There were all sort of people there - straight and 'curly', tall and short, fat and thin, white and yellow, and ugly and me. There were some finger food and countless bottle of champagnes. I arrived at his place around 11pm and stayed until the party ended at 3am. It was quite fun. I'll post some pictures from the party later when I got them from my friend.

On Saturday night, surprise surprise... I went clubbing again! I had a few drinks, the club wasn't pack but all my friends were there and I stayed till so late I'd to sleep for 13+ hours on Sunday to recover. I hate wasting my weekend sleeping! You've probably realised by now, the day after I went clubbing, I always promise you, God and myself that I will stop clubbing. Somehow when the weekend arrives, I sort of 'forget' what I promised. I think that if I were to stay home on a Saturday night, I'd probably bore my ass off doing nothing. So why not go out and have fun? Anyhow, this weekend I will really really try to stay home, or at least not go clubbing.

Quiz me, pop quiz

1# How is Martina Hingis? She lost to Venus Williams in a tight 3 setter in the 2nd Round last week. This week she is playing in the German Open and once again, the section of the draw she's in looks pretty tough. Mauresmo, Henin-Hardenne, Dementiava and Kuznetsova are all in that section.

2# Remember my blog on Tsubi? Here's Selma Blair wearing Tsubi, and love that white sunglasses on the table.

Beep! beep! beep! #2

News from Malaysia

Photo from MX May, 3, 2006. Love is blind indeed. Malaysian man Muhamad Noor Che Musa made the front page of today's MX, for marrying Wook Kundor. He is 33 years old and she is 104, and it wasn't one of those Anna Nicole Smith marriage because she is actually poor. I hope they have enough money to get KY though. Is that mean? Nah ~

Another funny news. A housewife in Kuala Lumpur was convinced that she was possessed by evils spirits by a medium, named Chong who claimed to be Jiu Huang Ye (Ninth Emperor of the Kingdom of God). He told her that the only way to get rid of them was to have sex with him. She slept with him 51 times and paid him RM20-50 per session. Not funny? Get this - he then convinced her to move close to him and later he MOVED IN with her and her family. Her husband found out later about the scam when he saw his wife taking contraceptive pills. HAHAHA ~ so funny.

Entertainment

Scarlett Johansson is getting creative with the infamous, get-the-fuck-out-of-my-face 'block'. This was what she used to do:

And this is what she does now:

The sign reads: 'I'm harrassed by the person taking this picture'. Photos from http://www.celebworld.org

Fashion

Photo from Adrants. Kate Moss is back and she is bigger than big. She has just finished a gig with Calvin Klein and has signed with Nikon to promote the new Coolpix S6 camera ranges. I am not really a camera person but I want this because she probably has one of those cameras now. And here's a picture of Miss Moss at the recent Costume Institute Party, looking classy, sophisticated and sexy as usual:

Opinion

What is the best type of self-defence? Karate? Taekwando? 'Run away as fast as you can' - I say! While I was running on the treadmill at the gym today, I saw my ex-personal trainer, Ernie, teaching this other personal trainer kickboxing. I felt the urge to arrange some private lessons with him to learn some kickboxing because you never know when it might come in handy. And then I thought, if I fight in self-defence, there is a chance of me losing and end up getting hurt. But if I run away, the possibility of 'losing' and/or 'hurting' is then greatly diminished. Label me a coward if you want, but 'running away' makes more sense to me.

Weather

Photo from Australian Severe Weather. Melbournians dress for the seasons instead of for the weather, and let me explain why. I woke up this morning, checked the weather broadcast online, which said 9-16 degrees and cloudy, and so I put one of my thick jumpers before I go to uni. When I got out of my apartment building, the summer sun was hanging right above of me. Just as I alighted from the train, I could feel the autumn breeze in my face. Before long, the entire sky was covered with dark winter clouds and the temperature was beginning to drop. Now, the sun is out with mild breeze like spring time.

Cut my hair... please

After six weeks since my last haircut, I went to have my haircut today. I didn't want to go back to Katsu or Taka, so I thought I'd go to Toni & Guy in Melbourne Central. I asked the lady there to book me a time for today and she said they were booked out. I looked around, expecting to see busy hairdressers running around and hear people chitchating over the noise from hairdyers. Instead, all I saw were two people working in this not-small saloon. No wonder they were booked out ~ HA!

I then walked to Geisha, which I used to go regularly 2-3 years ago before they started changing their hairdressers over and over again. When I got there, I found out that they close on Monday. Reluctant to go back to one of those hair saloons in Chinatown, I walked along Bourke Street and decided to go to Renaissance Hairdressing in Tivoli Arcade. The haircut was better than I expected! This saloon is definitely in my 'My Favourite Hair Saloon' list now. This is how I judge whether a hairdresser is good or bad:

  1. When you say, 'I want a trim', the hairdresser starts giving you suggestions and uses pictures to illustrate what s/he intends to do.
  2. S/he does not forget about tidying up your side-burns at the end!
  3. S/he does not talk to you.

I was going to ask the hairdresser her name, but that would just look like I was interested in her, which I don't, so I didn't bother. I think all of the female hairdressers there are Japaneses with one male hairdresser from Hong Kong. The price is reasonable - $45 for mens cut - when you compare it with other places, i.e. - Katsu ($50), Taka ($55), Toni & Guy ($75-100) and Geisha (around $70).

Martina Hingis is beginning her clay season at the J&S Cup this week and I think she is probably in the worse section of the draw. She will surely trash Maria Kirilenko in the First Round, but she is likely to face Venus Williams in the Second Round. Even if she beat Venus, she will have to play against Svetlana Kuznetsova in the Quarterfinals. If she could get through those two tough rounds, I think she will have an easy Semi-finals and if she gets through all those rounds, she will most probably play Kim Clijster for the title.

Photo from Nudie website. I want this! I want this! I want this. It's by Nudie Jeans, called Thin Finn in Black Black. I think it's around $300 at David Jones. Umm it sure is nice, but with my abnormally big upper body... I am not sure. Plus with my height, I'll probably have to fold the jeans until the end of it actually reaches my knee or something. I am banning 'Lengzai' from commenting on my blog! If it's not a compliment you have to give, keep it to yourself - you Bitch of the Bitches! I know who you are and I know where you live (kind of)!

I have something to say! I guess from my 'haircut experience' today, I learned that sometimes you might not get what you want, but in the end, things always work out.
