Dreamgirls Oscar Performance

Fun medley, fantastic performance by all, congratulation Jenny H!

Things I want... and must have

Jeans - True Religion: I seriously need a new pair of slimfitted jeans. I purposely left the ones I have back in Melbourne, thinking that tops are more essential, and one/two pair of jeans would be enough. How wrong was I to assume that? Anyway, this American clothing line is big in the States. Comfortable fabric, beautifully cutted. As far as I know, it's not available in KL yet though. My Pick: Stretch Logan Jeans. Tee - 1) 2KTshirt: I love printed tees. Everyone young (or young at heart) does, really. If they don't, they should! I've got a few tees from this brand. They produce unique, funkily fun printed tees. And they are 100% cotton; perfect for hot climated cities. My Pick: Some-Where. Photo from: 2KTshirt. 2) Anything: What can I say other than - I want, I want, I want!!! This street brand is quite expensive back in Melbourne (around AUD100 per tee) and it seems that it's a lot cheaper if you get it online. My Pick: Madfits. Photo from: aNYThing

Accesory - Dior Homme: I remember the first elastic tie I got back in Grade 1. It was in burgendy. Yes... I know. All 7 year-olds should know that that colour is not on the fashion colour palette. Well, this one is different. Not because it's in the always fashionable black and it's skinny but because it's Dior Homme. My Pick: Elastic Tie. Photo from: luisaviaroma
Phone - Prada/LG: I admit I'm technology stupid, but I know enough to know that this is a collaborated Prada and LG complete touch screen mobile phone which is a "must-have" for 2007 (out in March). Well, either this, or the iPhone (out around July). Photo from: Engadget

Work Wear

Although I am still unemployed, I think I should start getting some work appropriate attires anyway. Tees and jeans are fine occasionally, but not ALL THE TIME. Dress up professionally? So not my style, but I think I can do it. After all, accepting challenges shows that you're living life to the fullest. In fact, give me an unlimited credit card and shop mate and I can do anything.
Last few seasons were all about skinny jeans, and what about this season? Strink everything, of course! Slim suits, skinny tie, with the occasional oversized tops or accessories for contrast. What the heck ~ why not take up a few inches off your pants to expose your ankles too? Dior Homme:
Tailored suit jacket over oversized knitwear and fitted pants. This play with proportion is fun, and I like it! It's formal, but still young and hip. Burberry Prosum:

Same colour but in different tones. Long-sleeved top with mid-length pants. Pull up socks and sneakers. Plain but effective. Kim Jones:
This ensemble is both fresh and playful. Perhaps not apt for work, but possibly for any sem-formal event. D&G:

I love you-Tube

I love you, Youtube and the person/s who created it. It keeps people like me entertained on a boring weekend. While Youtube surfing, I came across a couple of MVs that I absolute adore.

1. Justin Timberlake - What goes around (comes around)

I'd never really been a Timberlake's fan, but this new single/MV changed everything. The song has a relaxed, funky beat, the MV is very 'outside the box' and Scarlett Johansson is very alluring. There is a lesson to be learned here. Cheaters beware.

2. Emilie Simon - Desert

This song isn't new, but I think it's still worth alerting it to people who haven't already know about it; or/and about Ms Simon. By the way, there's also an English version of this song. Love her voice, the unique MV, the big chair and the weirdness of concept and everything else.

3. Chara - Crazy for you

I'm usually not a big fan for animated MV. This one, however, is an exception. Despite her husky voice, everything is adorable - Bambi/s everywhere, the knitted garden, big chair, the very stylish shredded/faded red dress. Does this hallucination-provoking MV reminds you of the Etsu Meusy tee I blogged in March 06 under Late Night Recommendation?

Quick update

My journey into adulthood is surely very different from what I expected, albeit it's somewhat exciting. My parents think that I've been unproductive though. Maybe so. But I'm taking everything slowly right now. For Christ's sake, I've only been back for 2 months!

Since I graduated, I've sent out around 10 job applications, received 5 call-backs (2 law-related, 1 as a copywriter, 1 as an assistant editor and 1 as a staff writer), rejected 3 of them, attended an interview last week and going to another one this Friday. Initially, I was ambivalent about whether to work in the legal or editorial/writing field. Right now, I'm leaning towards the latter.

Oh, I've also had 4 hours of driving lessons already (need 20 hours altogether). Since Mini Cooper is outside my financial capacity, I'm thinking of getting either Hyundai Getz or Proton Savvy when I get my licence. Is it strange of me to want to get a manual car?

My stress level is under control.

Wish me luck!
