Bloody newspapers

Newspapers have stripped me of my innocence and, most importantly, my sense of humour. I no longer consider poverty a myth, natural disasters as humorous or Paris Hilton a bimbo. It all started when I subscribed myself for The Star newspaper after I graduated. It was merely for the purpose of job hunting. Before I knew it, I found myself shamelessly reading the World News and Opinion part of the paper. My god! I have even stopped reading the Garfield section! I bet it's not too far from now I'll go straight to the door when you go "knock knock".

Argh. I need to straighten out myself before this problem becomes irreversable. That means - more tv, shopping, clubbing and drinking.

Zero out of Ten

Rule no.156 of horror movie-making: Avoid boring your audience. Michael Chuah's Seed of Darkness not only neglectably (or not) violates this rule, but represents, without exaggeration, one of the worse horror films ever made. SoD begins with Yan (Wong Sze Zen) moving into an old apartment block with her daughter Ying Ying (Leong Jiun Jiun);conceived in-vitro. There, she meets their only neighbour (Alvin Wong). Things 'spookify' when Ying Ying begins talking to herself. She claims that she is talking to her father and he wants to take her away. What Michael Chuah attempts to achieve in this film - diverse use of angels, dull colours and 'shock moments' - is commendable. However, some poor acting, pace of the film and use of background music ruined the potentially appealing and fear-evoking plot.

Belated Happy Birthday to Chan

This weekend was another party-filled weekend. But this time there was a legitimate reason to party. It was Chan's birthday on Sunday. A casual dinner party which took almost 10 hours to prepare was held at a friend's apartment on Saturday night. Sandwiches, fried chicken, mushrooms with mayo/oyster sauce, tomyam rice noodle and various other finger food were served. After that, we went clubbing. On Sunday we had dinner at Baan 26 with those who weren't able to attend the party before going clubbing yet again. Partying is fun, and it's more than fun when there's a reason to party - I think.

By the way, I'm a born-again Dsquared2 fan. This Fall 2007 season collection is all about saliva-drooling, safe utilitywear. Plenty of pockets, zips, straps and hoods on denims, leather jackets and vests accompanied with protective gears - knee pads, elbow pads and arm guards. Photo from Style.

Belated Happy 2007

"That's no way that I'll going to go to all the parties (4 in total)." That was what I said when I was sober before the 30th of December. But, seriously, has anyone ever heard of me missing a party either willingly or intentionally? Me of all people should know that no one, at least those who look up to Ms Moss or Lohan, should be caged at home when there are circus of parties going on. Counting down, dancing, walking on vomit and getting people pissed. That's what celebration is all about.

Now that I've got all the parties out of the way, it's time to start my serious job searching process.
